October 2, 2011 We loved our stay! The bed was so comfy, the place was spotlessly clean (which is a big plus in my book), the hostess, Jan was gracious and charming, and every detail and amenity was thoughtfully considered.
July 8, 2011 Jan & Jim, thank you for the most relaxing five
day vacation we've experienced in a very long time. Your property is beautiful
and the amenities were even better than we imagined. A getaway on the river with all the comforts of home is exactly what
we were looking for; this is my kind of camping. Comfortable beds, awesome kitchen & bath and
lots of games & books made us feel right at home.
The river trip we made from La Crosse was an
adventure we hope to make again next year. We look forward to our return in the
fall with our bikes to take in the beautiful scenery by land. My only complaint
is that we had to leave! Every time I think of shadow the duck following Jim to
& from the river, I have to smile! The Cove restaurant was very good &
we highly recommend it for a casual meal.

Everyone had a great time. The kids fished off the dock and were having such a
good time that they didn't put the boat in.
Was there anything that we should or shouldn't have did because we don't
want to have any ill feelings. We are talking about lining up another weekend

I haven't had a chance to thank you for another great stay and the great hospitality. Aside from a tough few days of fishing, we really enjoyed ourselves and my kids had a great time. I especially loved the fact that I can plug in my work phone and computer and get by without taking vacations days during the week. I hope you found everything in good condition when we left. I'm looking at another four days at the end of October.

What a sweet place. It worked out great for us this year.
Fishing started kind of slow and really peaked for us on Tuesday. We caught
around 14 nice sized walleyes with the largest being 25 3/4" and quite a few
18-20" below the dam in Fountain City. We took a couple days to just cruise the
backwaters and try our luck with pan fish. Perfect location and excellent
accommodations. The WiFi was really handy being that I had to work off/on
during the week. Dishwasher was also a sweet perk to have. Loved everything
about it. Thank Jim for the great welcome upon arrival. The fire place added a
nice touch being that we had a couple of rainy days to contend with. I would
also like to plug Nosh, a restaurant in Lake City. Top notch food and service,
an extensive wine and beer list and great location/atmosphere.

March 14,2010 I just got off the phone booking our "second" stay at the cottage. It is unbelievably beautiful and comfortable there. The accommodations are as comfortable as any resort spa yet warm and cozy at the same time. It's a hard feeling to interpret and Jim and Jan have it down perfectly.
The area is breathtakingly scenic and there are plenty of quaint little bars and restaurants with friendly people and great food and drinks. There really is so much to do and enjoy in the area from fishing, hiking, antiquing to just enjoying the incredible scenery.
It was one of the most relaxing times we have had in a long time. When the accommodations are first rate and the hospitality is incredible it just can't be beat.
Thank you Jim and Jan for a wonderful first visit we are counting the days until our second stay with you.

This "thank you" is coming from two fanatic old
fishermen who enjoyed staying at "Laughing Fish Lodge" during Halloween weekend
of 2009. Having stayed at many places over the years as we searched for "Eyes"
in the lakes and rivers of Wisconsin and Minnesota, we were certainly impressed
with the accommodations at Laughing Fish. Very comfortable...plenty of
room...lots of nice restaurants (and bars) within easy driving distance...and
great TV's for watching college football games
when we weren't out on the river!
Speaking of being on the river, not only is the
setting great, but we enjoyed the best single day of walleye fishing we've ever
had. Can't tell you where the "hot spots" were, of course, but do want to say
we had a great time and plan on returning. A "thumps up" and a "5-star" rating
from us!

We
had a fabulous time at your place, despite some snowy weather. You
guys went way above and beyond the call of duty with your personal
attention and we couldn't have been more pleased with the
accommodations. We really made up for some lost time with our Dad and
he probably enjoyed it the most. There is nothing quite like coming in
from a cold day of GREAT fishing to a blazing hot fireplace and an
extremely cozy atmosphere. We are definitely coming back this year and
probably more than once. Can't wait for my kids to experience the
morning view when we walk out to our boat and head out for some world
class fishing.

Dave and I had the most relaxing month at
your wonderful and very comfortable accommodations. You were the best
hosts - always there with anything we needed for our stay & full of
information and help with the river, fishing, or the area. Best of all was the
terrific brunch you provided! We definitely want to head back there this
summer. Can't wait to see the beautiful sunsets over the river and sit around a
shared campfire again. (Loved the apples, too!)

had a great time, and the accommodations were more cozy than home. We
had a blast fishing from the dock. Our folks enjoyed their visit as
